Only serve one master

 I was in prayer this morning after listening to a clip about praying according to the will of God and this thought popped into my head. Why is it that when we go into prayer, we pray for money? We ask God for money, financial assistance, financial breakthrough, financial prosperity, almost as if we are asking God to provide a god. 

why do we not skip over the money part and ask for the product that we think we need money to get. We ask "Lord give me the finances for this car", why not "Lord give me this car". We can go down the line of thought and see that if we ask God for money or for a job, then suddenly its " i got this because i worked hard for it and saved up for it and now i have it" instead of "I asked God for it and he gave it". 

Is it a lack of faith, lack of understanding, lack of knowing his will? This is where praying in tongues comes in with groaning when we do not know what to pray.
